AI Day - the evolutionary event you may have overlooked

This year, on August 20th, Tesla organized a special event, called as ‘AI Day’. As far as you remember, this August, I’ve written a tweet to Elon Musk calling him to join our efforts and establish the Day of AI in order to draw the attention of the government and our society as a whole towards the unregulated technologies which are still being widely used all over the world.

Tesla’s ‘AI Day’ is dedicated to the novelties that are being applied to the enterprise’s other products and will be ameliorated and used in recent years.

Elon Musk and his team have presented us specific improvements to automated vehicles the ‘Tesla’ company manufactures, especially the much clearer vision and identification of every single object the automobile may encounter on the road with. So, the company introduced a D1 chip — a Tesla’s Dojo supercomputer system which is considered to become the fastest AI-training computer, being in the process of developing for a few years.

Ganesh Venkataramanan, Tesla’s senior director of Autopilot hardware and the leader of the Dojo project highlighted, ‘Dojo was entirely designed by Tesla team. It was not easy to design it, there were no tools that existed, even our compute cluster didn’t handle it. Our engineers created new methods to make it a reality’.

As Elon Musk said, ‘We should have Dojo operational next year’. As claimed by Tesla experts, Dojo is the world’s fastest computer for training ML (machine learning) algorithms. The chip is supposed to be significant for automated vehicles, to be accurate, to enhance the computer vision.

Moreover, Tesla Bot was also presented. How can we comment on that subject? And how did the company manage to deploy a subconscious clue into the minds of many people who watched the conference that a Humanoid Robot is gradually becoming a natural innovation?

Well, the answer is simple — the open-mindedness of the Tesla team and its CEO, Elon Musk. Just at the time we could have penetrated into deep thoughts after a few words about the invention, a person, wearing a costume of the Tesla Bot, started to dance. I guess, that defused the tension. Then, Elon told more about the future innovation which may jeopardize the basic Human Rights. Click here to get more info. about it.

However, the inventions were met with mixed views, some of them also based on the previous experience when brilliant concepts were not materialized or came to market later than being alleged (e.g. Model X back in 2012).

On the other hand, if Elon Musk hadn’t presented in particular controversial novelties, other enterprises would definitely have taken their turn to work on such innovative processes.

What I would like to highlight about the event is the atmosphere the Tesla company created. During the ‘AI Day’, people had an opportunity to ask questions to experts who really take part in technologies’ development. In addition, Elon also actively contributed to the discussion. Among such specialists, an impression appears, that the innovations provided go without saying — so open-minded were the speakers.

No doubt, 2022 will definitely present the technological realm with various cutting-edge products. But is LAW undergoing a sea change? Certainly. The rest we have to do is to start adapting the world legislations to such alterations. Unless it is too late, as in such matters, there is no time like the present.
